How accurate is the conversion?
Words found in the dictionary follow modern DBP spelling. Words that are not in the dictionary are spelt by syllable rules and highlighted so you can check them. We do not claim 100% accuracy; please report mistakes.
Can it convert Jawi back to Rumi?
Yes. Press the swap button or open the Jawi to Rumi page and paste Jawi text. Spellings that can be read in two ways offer a choice.
What is the difference between new and old spelling?
New spelling is the Pedoman Ejaan Jawi yang Disempurnakan published by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) in 1986 and used in schools. Old spelling is the earlier system associated with Za'ba. Our old-spelling mode is an estimate and is marked as such.
